Trying to update...

Well, apparently blogger isn't working like I thought it would, as it hasn't updated in a long time....

So, while I will continue to try to use this site to update official LD 25 stuff, only physically this time, instead of relying on auto-posts...    I am also starting an "opinion" page as well over at Pima's 25th. Note: it is a personal newsy opinion page, so take what is said there as a personal opinion, and not as the Pima GOP's stance on anything posted there.

Craig Smith for LD 25

I'm asking for your help to get a friend of mine, Craig Smith, on the August primary election ballot.  He wants to compete to be the Republican nominee for Arizona Senate for LD25.   He needs about 500 signatures from around the district (Legislative District 25 includes Marana) to achieve that.  Republicans, Independents and persons registered "Party Not Designated" may sign his nominating petition.

If successful in August (against other Republicans) he will compete in November for the Arizona Senate seat now held by Democrat Manny Alvarez.

Your signature on Craig Smith's nominating petition doesn't commit you to support him when you vote in August, or in the November general election (though certainly we hope that you will).

It simply helps to insure that Craig gets on the ballot and that we all have more choices when election time comes.

Craig Smith is not your ordinary Republican, nor an ordinary politician.  He's not a young "city-slicker" looking for a career in politics.  He's a retired U.S. Army Master Sargent with a Masters Degree in Public Administration.

Craig is genuine, honest and reasonable.  Born in Nogales, AZ, he's a gringo that speaks Spanish.  He's the former Director of Community Development in Bisbee.  He's been married 41 years and currently serves on the Huachuca City town council.

Craig is a libertarian-Republican.  A true believer in smaller government, lower taxes and more freedom.  He believes in the rule of law, not personal whims, but he's aware that laws are sometimes poorly crafted and unevenly applied. 

When Craig Smith takes the Oath of Office swearing to uphold the Constitutions of both the United States and Arizona he means it.

It's Official! CD-7 Has A Candidate!

Ruth McClung, Republican Congressional candidate, is officially on the ballot Ruth McClung, Republican Congressional candidate in Arizona's 7th district, filed her petitions on Monday, April 26.  Ruth's signature count was 1358 which gives her more than 3 times the number needed to be placed on the primary ballot on August 24, 2010. There are still some signatures out so she will do an addendum  to her filing, later on in May.  Ruth has been officially running since June, 2009.  After collecting signatures since July, 2009 it was a good feeling to have that important step of the campaign finished. I am so grateful to a number of you for collecting signatures for me! I could not have gotten this many without your help!  Guess who is taking the picture?  It was a bipartisan act! Ruth

Darn Rupblicans...Being All Transparent and Stuff...

In a story posted at the Tucson Weekly, Supervisor Ray Carroll becomes the focus of the left as, once again, the Republican does "transparency in government" better than the left.

Supervisor Carroll has been asking for months for more detail into the budget situation of Pima County in order to get a handle on the 1.2 BILLION dollar debt the county currently owns. Those requests have essentially fallen on deaf ears. In addition, the 3 Democrat Supervisors refuse to seed the 6th person necessary for the citizen's budget revue committee to hold a quorum and begin looking into the county's financial paperwork.

What was Huckleberry's response? "It's not how much the debt is. It's how you manage it." In other words...as long as we bounce it around and pass it off to the next administration, we don't need to worry about it now. Apparently 'Transparency' is only acceptable when viewed through a frosted glass of Huckleberry whine.

How dare we try to be fiscally sound.

Supervisor Carroll needs our support, before any further "creative accounting" destroys Pima County.
